Black Friday Becomes Bless Friday® – Bless Friday Celebrated 11th Year
Since 2010, Bless Friday® has provided an alternative to hectic Christmas shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. Churches and Christians in Houston and The Woodlands, Texas prepared socially distanced service projects to honor Christ at Christmas. Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church helped Animeals on Wheels, an adjunct organization assisting Meals on Wheels, by re-packing cat and dog food for distribution to clients. Families also gathered outside to paint Kindness Rocks which were later left at busy places around town for someone to find. MDPC also had several at-home project such at re-packing rice and beans for the Fuente Food Pantry and preparing Christmas shoeboxes for the Seafarers Mission. The Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church held an outdoor church cleanup.
Chuck Fox, founder of Bless Friday®, said, “It was hard to schedule events due to COVID-19. I’m glad that some churches were able to provide safe ways to begin the Christmas celebration with service. We hope to see churches return in 2021”
Bless Friday® was founded in 2010 in Houston to change the way Americans celebrate Christmas. Please see more of our website, BlessFriday.org or contact Chuck.Fox@BlessFriday.org.
